Canadian Western Bank

Canadian Western Bank was formed in 1988 and is based in Edmonton, Alberta. Operating in mainly Western Canada, CWB offers personal and business banking as well as investment and financing services.
The Report on Business named Canadian Western Bank one of Canada's top 50 employers in 2008.
The Canadian Western Bank (CWB) which is a bank based in Edmonton and its main operations are in western Canada.Canadian Western Bank was formed in 1988, by the merger of the Western & Pacific Bank of Canada and the Bank of Alberta.
CWB is the largest Schedule 1 bank regionally focused on Western Canada making it a competitor for the larger banks in Canada.
Now from what I can tell the services offered are the usual personal banking, business banking and investment opportunities like any other bank in Canada.
What is offered that sets them apart from other banks is that they “bank on people”.
Canadian Western Bank’s slogan on their website is “Everyone thinks banking is all about the money, but at CWB it’s all about the people”.
Now that is a slogan I can smile on when reading it, I might not personally bank at CWB but I do hear good things from it.
At CWB you are offered as I said before the usual banking you may find everywhere, which includes Mortgages, Loans, Personal Accounts, Investment Products, Credit Cards, etc.
CWB is a member of the Canadian Bankers Association (CBA) and a registered member with the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) – a federal agency insuring at all of Canada’s chartered banks. This only shows it is nowhere behind any of the larger banks in Canada.
If you are in Western Canada and might be looking for a larger bank to do your banking at, it might be a good choice to take a look at CWB. Take a look at CWB has to offer, you might find yourself signing up faster than you think.
