Three men dead after an early-morning crash south of Edmonton


EDMONTON - Three men are dead after an early-morning crash south of Edmonton.
Police responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover near Beaumont, near the intersection of Highway 625 and 60th Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a Dodge Ram pickup truck in the south ditch of the highway. Paramedics were called to the scene. A second vehicle believed to be involved in the crash, a Pontiac Grand Am, was found just west of where the pickup truck had landed.
At this time, police believe both vehicles involved in the crash were traveling eastbound.
The two men who were in the Grand Am died in the crash. One man in the pickup truck also died. The second 28-year-old male passenger in the pickup truck was transported to hospital by STARS air ambulance and is in critical condition.
Two of the dead men were 18. The third man was 22. All are from the Beaumont and Leduc area.
The names of the dead have not been released pending notification to next of kin.
