Police close Hwy. 16 after bridge collapse near Lloydminster

EDMONTON - A bridge collapse Tuesday near Lloydminster forced RCMP to close a section of Highway 16.
A truck carrying a large backhoe struck the Canadian Pacific Railway bridge, on the Saskatchewan side of the city, at about 2:30 p.m., Lloydminster RCMP said.
The impact caused a large section of the bridge to collapse onto the highway. No injuries were reported.
RCMP are rerouting traffic on Highway 16, between Upgrader Road and 75th Avenue, until further notice.
